Day 74:Yosemite Valley - Tuolumne Meadows

The mail room at the Tuolumne Meadows store.

Unintentionally zeroed today. We ran errands in the valley all day until our 5 pm shuttle, when we ran into sour cream and his parents who came w him to hike. We all headed back up to Tuolumne Meadows, then saw t-Rex & rocky & king street lounging in front of the general store. Smiles and I were supposed to hike 4-6 miles that evening, but instead caught up w our friends, who were on the same schedule to Sonora pass as us, though for different reasons. Smiles and I were on a mission to Sonora Pass by July 3rd to meet up with our friends for the Fourth of July hike, while Rocky & T-Rex were on a mission to pass Sonora and meet up with Rocky's mom close to South Lake Tahoe around July 9th. We said we would try to hike out together tomorrow, then Smiles cashed in one of her many unfulfilled birthday present tickets and we stayed at the Tuolumne Lodge, which was actually a bunch of tent cabins. We continued our poor diet with a dinner of goldfish, since the restaurant was closed and no cooking was permitted on the property. We had a romantic evening by the fire and enjoyed another night in real, if not small, beds with a wood-burning stove.
