Day 36: poodledog country - acton koA

Smiles slogs through poodledog bush.
Smiles and Sour Cream with Acton/Palmdale in the background.

Smiles and I, nearly out of poodledog country.

A nice succession of flowers in the burned area.

Burned, nonetheless. Hot and exposed.

Smiles descends towards the Acton KOA, back in low desert scrub.

The Acton KOA is literally next to a dump.

We had a good hike early on in the day with sour cream. Thick poodledog in the early parly of the hike, then fire scars and chaparral. Descended to n fork ranger station for quick lunch, then started a lousy hot exposed descent followed by a few hundred feet of climbing into the KOA. Literally a dump next door. Gorged on food, then went swimming/hot tubbing. All manner of hikers came out of the woodwork, and I ate a lot of pizza and ice cream. Tomorrow, on to hiker heaven!
